Hi Rande,
I completely agree with your comments about the whole election system. It is truly biased to only being able to elect a Democrat or Republican. It would be nice to have a third or fourth party actually have a chance to win.
But if this was a totally true democracy, it would have another choice added for none of the above. Many people don't vote because they don't want any of the candidates who are running. Why shouldn't they be able to vote for none of the above. So if the majority voted for none of the above, they would have to come up with new candidates. That way all the people in America would truly be able to say, yes my vote actually does count. I also feel that all citizens should have to vote, that way everyone vote would really count. It is a computer age now, so why don't they just assign every voter a number and password and have him vote through the Internet. That way all votes would be counted fairly and accurately. Everyone can get access to a computer nowadays. Through schools, libraries, personal computers. All they would have to do is come up with a computer program to do this or get a standard voting machine to be used in every state such as the ones used in NY state that have levers that can only be used once to vote in each category.
