No, I didn't watch the Broward recounts. And I'm not saying that the Republicans don't have any legitimate beefs with the way that particular recount was carried out.

But the GOP's frantic trashing of manual recounts as an Al Gore invention began before any recounts actually happened. I repeat:

If your complaint is partial recounts, what's the obvious remedy? Full recounts
If your complaint is lack of standards, what's the obvious remedy? Setting a standard
Why haven't we heard the Bush camp ask for these obvious remedies? Because they're not really complaining about the manner of the recounts. No recount would have been acceptable.
