It’s Shakespeare’s great nationalist play, I think, and it sets the blood to boiling. I too have read it many times, and have seen several performances of it over the years. Olivier’s Henry is excellent, but I wouldn’t characterize Branagh as so boring as to warrant a double nap, though the overall film falls flat for long stretches. I thought Branagh did quite well in his speech before Harfleur, for example, but I remember thinking the long scene directly after Agincourt could have been cut in half and to far greater effect. What didn’t you like?

You are correct re: Fluellen. I think Ian Holmes did him in the Branagh film. I’ve enjoyed him for years.
