My understanding is that the key employees have agreed to
stay on for several years, therefore the buyout should not be a factor
in the day to day operation for a long time. As a shareholder in several
of the family's funds I view it as a non event for now.

57% advisors bullish rating is in neutral territory after recent dip
to highly favorable 43% level in April. Once again most "advisors"
became bearish at the bottom of the market correction thereby
showing their true colors as contrary market indicators!

If the long term treasury rate approaches ten percent in the near term stock prices
will be creamed. However, with rates hovering in the 7% to 7.25% range in recent
months most of the time, stock investors have been unalarmed for the most part
except for the inevitable purge of the nervous nellies which created the only
gift horse buying opportunity of 1997 during early and mid April. Investors expecting
ten percent long treasury rates have good reason to be skeptical about the market...
but those with sanguine interest rate views are not preoccupied over this issue.
