IDC is looking for PCs to grow in the upper teens next year, and all those processors have to come from somewhere (Mostly Intel and AMD can only leverage their mid-upper teens percentage market share so much, when it comes to price). If AMD was an equal player, it might be a different story. Put more simply, how can a 20% player dictate ASPs to an 80% player. Have you noticed that Intel's GMs are several points higher than they were a couple of years ago, and Bryant predicts they'll actually start going up in about Q4 next year? I'll take my chances with Intel.
