i was clearly doing it wrong.
i was using the alt key and typing 0162 on the numeric keypad.

i was "teasing" about having a key for it on my compaq keybroad. or as you might sometimes say, "he was deliberately, distorting and ignoring the clear and simple facts in a malicious attempt to subvert the truth for his own gain."
