It not inconceivable at all, since, in that NYT article I cited, the hypocrisy is indeed self-evident. We remain naive though. The courts have been political instruments from their inception. This was a completely purposeful cog in the checks and balances. Yesterday's 5-4 ruling was the final, gossamer-like thread unraveling from our collective blinders. Regardless of affiliation and apparent chaos (also purposeful), we are indeed witnessing contortions, not disruptions, of the framework.
