Well, if you'd seen the ballot you might have a better understanding of how difficult it is to determine the will of the voter via chad. Even you might then throw up your hands and say...OK, use the machine count and fix the voting method next time...

As far as FL law. Apparently, that's subject to revision and rewriting at any time and it depends on the Judge.
That's one of the first things they teach in law school...no law is set in stone, or so I hear...
Judge Sauls was the one that had it right when he ruled...hey, as it is now, we can't hand recount validly so the elections stands, that's it. Done. Fix it next time.
I know you want your man to win. OTOH, If Gore had been ahead after 3 recounts and this crapola lay ahead, I'd say the same thing. Be done with it.
If we could have a new election with two new guys then that would be OK with me too...
