Dell'Oro Group report indicates demand for Access Concentrators and SOHO Routers up; Strong quarterly showing by Ascend, Livingston, Microcom and US Robotics

PORTOLA VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 1997--According to the Dell'Oro Group's first quarter report, published last week, revenue in the Router and Remote Access markets remained relatively flat at $1.8 billion.
Remote Access revenues grew 6% during the quarter, while Router revenues contracted for the first time by 2% during the same period. Leading vendors are ranked by revenue market share below:

increase in revenue for the quarter while Access Servers declined by
the same percentage in the period. 20% growth in SOHO and 3% in Low
End Routers was offset by declines in both the High End and Midrange
Router segments.
