How about a campaign to put an arrow in a circle on every product they
make and then running a trillion dollar advertising campaign to hype
"AMD INSIDE"? It works for some products!

Seriously, though, I do not and never did expect AMD to compete with
Intel. AMD is doing fine in the processor market for low-end computers...those are selling out as fast as they're being made.

AMD will make it on the diversity of chips they make and on the ability to rapidly ramp up production when it's needed.

I keep hearing the same worry...AMD can't compete in the CPU line. Please take note of the fact that the processor business is not the
majority of AMD's business. Check out all the other stuff they make
and look up the customers they supply. AMD is a major supplier to most of the world's biggest corporations. They'll do fine...it's just
going to take time. The tech stocks are just about all in the dumper
now...this is by far not the worst one. I'm hanging in for the long
term...I know that someday it will pay off.

Also very important, check out the financials...low long term debt and
good cash position: that's very important to companies like this that
go through these kinds of downturns. AMD is in a position to weather
a pretty long drought if they have to.
