hi ms

re, "Lesson I learned from using Win2K, if there is a certified driver from Win2K that support your peripheral hardware, use it instead of the manufacturer's version of the Win2K"

i concur. recent display probs (in win2000pro) led me on a search for better drivers. long story endless, the manufacturer's most current drivers for my voodoo3 3000d agp graphics card really messed up my display. a windows dialog warned prior to installing the voodoo drivers that they probably would not work right, but they came from 3dfx so i figured i could believe manufacturer. <g> wrong!

i did ultimately go back to the generic certified windows driver, and i discovered along the way that my mon's refresh rate was way too low. bumping it from 60h to 100h has cleaned up almost all of the problem (still some jerkiness when i drag a browser window across the desktop).

:)
