I wonder if the jerkiness has to do with the speed of the CPU? With my AMD 750mhz setup, I didn't experience too much jerkiness when dragging the browser. However, when I did the same thing on my Pentium III 350 mhz, jerkiness is quite significant when dragging into another monitor.
