Hon, You find me a precedent within the past century where a federal court has inserted itself into a state election process in the fashion that the U.S. Supreme Court has done here. And this from an advocate of so-called judicial restraint and "strict construction." The only source I can come up with is from the amazingly prescient writings of George Orwell who wrote: "Count first, and rule upon legality afterwards, is not a recipe for producing election results that
have the public acceptance democratic stability requires."
O, I'm sorry. That was Justice Scalia.
Now, I'd love to continue this discussion on the Surreal World of Bushocracy. But I have other things to do. Regards, Lil
PS There is, by the way, precedent for ill-considered political decisions by the Supreme Court. Dred Scott comes to mind. Lil
