I would not jump into more INTC too quickly:

1. Demand is obviously slowing down. The market is sated with Pentiums, Pentium MMX's, Pentium II's. The gains in performance by the newer chips are becoming incrementally less.

2. More competition. Cyrix and AMD have lower priced chips with competitive performance. DEC has a faster chip for more specialized applications. And DEC has broken the dam wall by buying from AMD. Other US computer manufacturers will have to follow suit in order to remain price competitive.

3. The DEC suit will be a distraction and slow the implementation of Merced.

Net, net. Lower margins for many quarters to come. And a long time before INTC makes a new high again!
