The most relevant item, I think, is that this is the period when AMD moves its wafer starts so that only the bottom quarter of AMD's volume is as slow as the top quarter of Intel's volume. This should keep AMDs ASP in the desktop market from falling much further. Meanwhile, the entry into SMP systems and the reentry into notebooks should provide a nice boost. Remember how tough it was for AMD in Q1 of 1999 when its top 25% matched up with the speed ranges of Intel's bottom 25%? Those positions reverse next quarter and Desktops are still the number one market for CPUs. Dan
