wayne, bush is avoiding any and all types of recounts. he couldn't care less whether they were more accurate. period. he doesn't want to lose the presidency even if the voters in florida didn't give him a majority.

fortunately, al "cherry pick" gore stepped up and tried to manipulate a win rather than ask for the fairest remedy.

IF al gore took the high road (hey, there has to be a 1st time, right? right? ;-) and requested a statewide recount and appealed to the canvassing boards to choose a reasonably consistent standard then i believe he would have gotten it.

hey, even if he lost, he could sue the canvassing boards to "lighten up a little." ;-)
