The whole trip took 20 minutes.

And doesn't have nearly the memories of the 8 hour treks.

I may bitch and moan about it -- strike that, I DO bitch and moan about it -- but I wouldn't give up the tree farm search for anything. But please do NOT reveal that secret to my wife! I get lots of coddling and sympathy and extra hugs for putting up with it.

P.S. I'm glad that Dan appreciates the importance of the saw. I always bring my own, because I never trust theirs to be truly sharp.

As for fake trees, well, they're fake.

Sort of like teaball tea.

About which my grandmother, a tiny, crusty Irishwoman, said "you canna make a good cup of tea by dipping a mouse up and down by its tail in a cup of hot water."

I feel the same way about fake trees. I may pretend to pine over them at Walmart, but no fake tree will ever enter our house.
