Interesting. The guy in Virginia thought his elk was a huge buck. When he recovered it, he saw the thing had a tag in its ear. He called the VDGIF (VA Dept of Game and Inland Fisheries) and they told him to check it in as he would a deer. The checkout station wouldn't check it. SO they told the guy to enjoy. I'm hoping in ten years or so that the Kentucky elk will move into Virginia in decent number. That way I won't have to travel so far when I want elk. I can leave home, arrive in Virginia, hunt and get back in the time it takes do do an elk hunt. (grin) I went out today and got skunked. Didn't see a thing. Actually, there's probably a reason for that. I did something a little different. I stretched out on the hillside and took a nap! I think will return home soon, or see if I can go for moose up north or something.
