Skeets, as I have said before, both sides have been hypocritical here and I hold no brief for Gore's behavior. It's been purely self-interested and mistaken tactically.

I do feel that Gore deserved more due process as the loser in a tied election. My first anger is against Katherine Harris because it was her public duty to see fair play done and a very careful count made and I don't think that she did that.

I am more angry at the Republicans than the Democrats because they have trashed the normal process for contesting elections -- manual recounts are not an Al Gore invention -- and trashed any court that ruled against them. At least Gore didn't do that. Let's not even mention impugning the Democrats' patriotism over the military absentee ballots.

The sheer sense of entitlement coming off the Bush campaign, the sense that Bush deserves the win even if he didn't get the votes, gets my goat.
