i think Biggs is his own man....i don't believe he let's anybody 'trot him out' to state views that are not his. i say that due to his seniority and previously exhibited contrarian viewpoint that was unpopular on WS. what might have happened though is something like this:

strategy meeting at MSWD early this morning. gloomy mood prevails, as everybody's contemplating the melting away of the recipients of recent telco bridge loans ability to repay a single red cent. suddenly, in the eerie quiet, Biggs is overheard whispering to Wien: "Ya know Byron, i think the Nazduck could actually bounce some here..."
the meeting wakes up..."could you PLEASE say this in public..."
