Bombardier Receives an Order to Refurbish 71 Bi-Level
Commuter Cars From GO Transit in Toronto

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--DECEMBER 11, 2000 - 15:14 EST
Bombardier Transportation was awarded a contract
by GO Transit, which provides commuter rail services to the
Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions, for the refurbishing
of 71 bi-level commuter rail passenger cars (56 coach cars and 15
cab cars). The contract is valued at approximately Cdn$38
million.

These GO Transit Bi-Level cars are in service since 1982. The
contract is to renew and repair the car systems and appliances to
enhance performance and incorporate new equipment as well as
specified modifications. The work will be performed by Bombardier
Transportation at its Thunder Bay, Ontario facility and is
scheduled to be completed by the end of 2004.
