Hi, Frank - Bingo!

'Don't be surprised if you see the incumbents taking these measures, first. They are already into each of the areas you cited, albeit in a limited, toe-testing way, right now. While they may be slow, they aren't altogether stupid.'

That is the point I have been trying to make. Foot-dragging is only a part of the strategy, which can be described roughly as...

1 - Hold on to that monopoly - the bridgehead at the CO!
2 - Waste the resources of the pretenders to the throne.
3 - When the time is right, reassert the dominance of the incumbents.

Thank you. I have been staggering around like a drunken sailor, trying to make that point. The monopoly was never truly broken, and the incumbents have an endless variety of tricks, that will culminate in an impersonation of Lazarus.

'You will never be able to achieve the ideal, which is to access anyone, anywhere, with a big fat pipe that will do it all. Not unless the incumbents provide it: so what 'monopoly' is being eliminated?'

Regards,

Jim
