I have two responses to that article relating to polling places on military posts.

As a reasoned moderate, I believe we're walking a fine line when it comes to mixing politics and the military. People have a right to vote, including servicemembers.

However, setting up polling places on bases to permit service members to vote, especially when the majority of servicemembers are actually residents of another state, may lead to military interference/influence in the voting process, since all military installations are Federal facilities.

It is far better that military commanders be tasked with insuring that all soldiers with local residency receive the mandated 2 hours leave given to other federal workers so that they can travel to established polling booths to vote (here in the US). All installation commanders should emphasize, coordinate, and support absentee balloting, while keeping politics and ideology out of it.

NOW ON THE OTHER HAND... my second response is very similar to the Jessa Jackson perspective....

Who the hell does this Senator think he is, for him to be targeting US servicemembers?!!!

This is wholesale discrimination that will not be forgotten... We're one of the most discriminated and unrepresented elements of society today... People send us off to risk life and limb, but continue to relegate us as second class citizens, mercenary slaves to their foreign policy.

WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!

Yes... if I were to handle wholesale, blatant disenfranchisement of an entire segment of society, the segment that ensures that we have the freedom that permits us to vote in the first place, the way Jessa Jackson handles his causes....

Oh boy!!! Actually, I'm hoping that Jessa Jackson steps over the line and creates chaos in the streets. I would love to see the police put the habeus grabbus on his butt and him charged for sedition.
