Where were the Church/State arguments when Jesse ran for President? Why is it offensive that preachers wield some influence among Republicans, but not offensive that preachers wield some influence among Democrats? Was it okay to be a hypocrite and profess Christianity without believing in its major tenets, but not okay to be sincere in one's religious beliefs? Why is it okay to embrace Farrakhan, even though he is an anti- semite with odd beliefs about flying saucers, but not okay to embrace Pat Robertson, who is fairly philo- semitic and believes in the power of prayer? Could it be that Democrats have no problem with religion as long as it supports their agenda?
