| Yeah, I was amazed they had not cancelled her flight. Have you ever been on that fine powdery snow that is more dangerous than most ice? Once, I had an argument with my wife about going out in such a snowfall, when it was merely to stock on weekend pastry from a bakery. She asserted that she had more experience with it, being from the Midwest, and therefore she would be okay. I got mad, and insisted that if one of us went, it would be me, because experience is useless on that stuff. Heck, even if you do not slide, all you need is some yutz coming opposite you too fast. Anyway, sure enough, even going about 15 miles an hour on a side road, when I tried to slow down for a curve, my car just kept going in the straight line. Didn't matter that I had turned the wheel. If someone had been on the other side of the road, it would have been a pretty serious accident. Anyway, I finished my task, went home, and rubbed it in for several days....... |
