Allan, I'm starting to think that there's much more to the theory that it will take years for the market to bottom. IF there was little cash on the sidelines, I think this rummy market would be in the toilet right now given all the warnings. But since there's just so much money looking for a home, bad news is getting bought regardless of valuation and fundamentals, simply because money is looking for a home. We need many many washouts for this money to evaporate. Dips will be bought until there's no money to buy them anymore. Until then, it seems unlikely to me that we accererate to the downside unless there is some serious disaster. But as long as there's mountains of cash on the sidelines, I expect trending lower with dips being bought only to end up in money heaven. In the last 6 months, there must be a lot of cash that has ended up in money heaven, but is it obviously not a significant portion or people would not be buying now. The next washout will put more ClownBux in money heaven, but my guess is there's still a ton of it left... BWTFDIK?
