I have the thermostat on 80 and can only get the house
to 65.

It may make you feel better to put the thermostat on 80. But as I learned long ago, the house doesn't warm up any faster whether it's on 72 or 90. Either the heat's on or it's off. So drop that thermostat down to 72 or when the Chinook comes through at 2 am you'll wake up to a house at 80 and you'll really be sorry!
