Astrologer's Point of View re: today's ruling:

"One of the teevee Talking Heads indicated that the Supreme Court made their announcement at 2:40pm so I ran a new chart and compared it both candidates' natal charts.

The first thing that jumped out at me was the influence of transitin Uranus in both candidates' 7th - disputes...it was in opposition to the midpoint of Gore's Saturn (difficulty) and Mars (ruler of the Presidency) and it was trine to the midpoint of Bush's Moon (ruler of behind-the-scenes) and Jupiter (luck) in the 3rd (news). That the energy was ripe for the Supreme Court to accept Bush's challenge and that it threw the Gore camp for a loop is clear.

In comparing other aspects, however, it looks as though the Supremes will come back with a ruling favorable to Gore:

In Gore's chart, the transiting Moon (ruler of 12th - completions) is conjunct Venus (ruler of 4th - foundations/endings) in the 10th - Presidency, while Bush's moon, also in the 10th, only sextiles Saturn (determination) in the 12 - completions. The conjunct to Venus is the more powerful of aspects, so score one for Gore.

In Bush's chart, transiting Sun is in opposition to his Uranus, ruler of 7th (disputes) in the 11th (goals) while Gore's Sun is trine to Mars (ruler of the Presidency) in Gore's 1st house. Score another point for Gore.

Bush has transiting Mercury (ruler of 11th - goals) trine Mercury in his 1st, but his Mercury is also squared to his Mars, ruler of the Presidency. Gore's transiting Mercury on the other hand is trine to the Sun in the 9th - Courts.

Bush's transiting Mars, ruler of the Presidency in the 3rd - news - is sextile to Venus, ruler of the 4th (completions) and entrapped in the 10th (presidency) but Gore has the stronger Mars influence as it trines Uranus in the 11th (goals) and ruler of the 7th - disputes.

Gore also has Venus and Neptune opposite his Ascendant but there are soooo many different ways to intepret that, I'm not gonna' go there. He also has Jupiter in the 11th (goals) sextile his Ascendant.

So all in all, the positive influences seem to be stronger in Gore's chart than in Bush's and I anticipate a favorable ruling for the Gore camp."
