North American Palladium joins TSE 300 Composite Index

TORONTO, Dec. 12 /CNW/ - (TSE - PDL; AMEX - PAL) North American Palladium
Ltd. is pleased to announce that the company will be added to the TSE 300
Composite Index in the Gold & Precious Metals Subgroup effective the close of
business December 14, 2000.
The inclusion of North American Palladium in the TSE 300 Composite Index
reflects the markets recognition of the significant progress that the company
has made in developing a highly economic world class, open pit Palladium mine.
The TSE 300 Composite Index, tracks leading companies in various
subgroups, providing investors with a broad market indicator that represents
300 of the largest companies traded on the TSE.
North American Palladium's Lac des Iles Mine is Canada's only primary
producer of platinum group metals and is one of the largest open pit bulk
mineable palladium reserves in the world. Palladium use in the auto industry
has continued to increase in 2000 and future demand prospects are robust and
supported by more stringent hydrocarbon emissions standards for cars,
particularly in the United States, Europe and Japan.
