my two cents on 'When you make a bad bargain, hug it the tighter'.... when you pay dearly for something (a 'bad bargain'), appreciate it all the more (hug tighter). as opposed to say, getting something for next to nothing (a great bargain), and discarding it as being too easily attained. i agree, however, that the quote is definitely open to interpretation! :) mark
