>>>On the contrary, if things go as I expect, it is an end to this farce, and hence Party Time!<<<
Please don't misuse my good name--lol! You're wrong, Neocon. The Florida Supreme Court had it read right. That court discovered a way to count as many votes as possible, this in light of the fact that many voters got screwed--the butterfly folk, the military absentee ballot folk and the black folks who met a system there to oppose their attempts to vote.
The Florida courts, I think, by allowing the Seminole and Martin County votes to count and by allowing votes which have already been tabulated to count, and by allowing the votes which have never been counted in the first place to count, did the best that could be done under the circumstances.
I don't understand why so many wish such a horrible fate for Bush. If he 'takes' the presidency, rather than 'wins' the presidency, it'll be horrible for him. It'll be worse for the county near-term and it'll ultimately prove a great disaster for the Republican Party, as few will forgive as time wears on. Stealing the presidency due to political connections, instead of the citizeny's votes, will become a very dark hour for the GOP. Only GOPwingers will have a short partytime span--it'll end quickly.
Democrats were rather forgiving over the Clinton impeachment attempt. But they won't at all be forgiving if the Republican Party, literally, steals the presidency without winning either the national popular vote or the electoral college vote. |
