BB,

If funds were hoarding cash would that be picked up by the Rydex ratios? In other words, is it possible that people have committed their money to Bullish funds, as measured by the Rydex numbers, yet it has not been put to work in the markets yet, pending election news? Perhaps you might be inclined to answer by pointing out the low levels of money market assets, however, that should only indicate the level of commitment of investors. It does not indicate the level of commitment of fund managers. Of course, I do realize there is a tendency for committed dollars to be put to work as soon as they become available, so that there tends to be a close correlation with money market funds approximating available investment dollars. But, this might be a special situation. I recall recently reading that cash levels in funds were over 6%, which was a somewhat bullish amount of cash. I realize it's a stretch but, is it possible a lot of cash was withheld in anticipation of election results and interest rate news?
