The whole thing seems to be based or relates to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) for studying personality types (which is itself based on the personality type theory of CG Jung). In many books about MBTI you find typical jobs for the 16 personality types of Myers Briggs. I personally do not always agree with the authors in this case (My MBTI is ESTP, so I am supposed to be a good at marketing, as a retail salesperson, auditor, jobs which I would actually hate - FWIW). Application of the theory is not easy or straight forward, and in social science, there is always an exception to the rule.

While it is quite interesting to learn about the Myers Briggs type, I feel it is limited to your preferred behavior, and does not tell you anything about things like intelligence, creativity, if your are an A**, your social skills and other things which are part of your personality as well.

There are a couple of books on this subject, but the earliest reference is probably Hippocrates: Human Nature (450 B.C.)
