Nokia's recent comments about industry consolidation gave me the impression they are about to cut a check. Lucent would be as good a candidate as any since Nokia needs to beef up it's pipeline for various types of network technology. Motorola is a failing commodity company that can't seem to produce a profit, TI is Nokia's main supplier, and Spinco is not available for purchase. Lucent is the only company that would complement Nokia's presence in handsets. Without a current leader, Lucent also has the least amount of egotistical interference. Right now, the board only has one priority, get the stock price higher!!
