The bell has tolled on democracy in Florida. GOP legislators have proven that there is no length to which they won't go (including thumbing their nose at the voters) to achieve the partisan result they favor. The irony is that under the Federal safe harbor law they claim to be concerned about, they may actually have harmed Bush (and Florida) more than they have helped Bush (and Florida) because of this action.

Payback is hell - I would expect the new democratic plurality in Florida to return this favor to the legislature (and Jebbie) the very next time they get the chance. Should be interesting to watch when it happens.
