The Florida Senate still has to approve the resolution that the legislature voted to affirm. They meet tomorrow. And regardless of the Supreme Court decision today, they must do it; to make sure that Florida's electors vote are not rejected by Congress on January 5th; and even if there is no second slate of Gore electors. The claims and sensational charges of the Democrats and media show their dishonesty or complete ignorance. YThe presently certified slate was based on new deadlines set by the Florida Supreme Court. That decision was vacated by the US Supreme Court and so those electors are tainted. The safe harbor is only granted if all controversy, challenge, recounts, standards, and litigation are settled by today. Even if Gore claims he wants the Seminole or all cases withdrawn, he can't stop any Democrat from filing a lawsuit; nor can the 40 or so election lawsuits and contests be settled by 5:00 PM today. Gore would like to disenfranchise all of Florida's voter, by having Forida's electoral votes rejected, so that he can then have the majority of electoral votes on January 5th. They will be challenged though, as will defections within the electoral college. Both situations would require Congress to vote on the next President. No one will care if Gore votes for himself; but just imagine the outrage if Jeb ends up casting the final vote. Maybe the USSC is convincing the FSC to voluntarilly withdraw their decisions; to avoid having the USSC force them to do it. Can't believe these Democratic legislatures saying they are taking peoples votes; breaking laws etc I'm sure the G-D lawyers will sue the Florida legislatures now. Someone has to put the Florida Supreme Court back in their place and show them how to interpret and to stop legislating. I hope they don't take the Seminole Case.
