In twin victories for George W. Bush, the Florida Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that 25,000 absentee ballots challenged in two Florida counties should count in the state’s contested presidential election. The 6-0 rulings put an end to the cases and any hopes that Democrat Al Gore could overtake Bush in their prolonged presidential race in Florida.

This just happened, the door closes on Al, merely a crack left open (and even that is highly optomistic).
