I suggest that you work with management from a basis of trust and respect (as they should with you) instead of from the position that they are corrupt jerks that just want to take advantage of their workers. You may actually make some progress. You may also find that they want happy workers. If they trusted you and you trusted them you would not need a union to stick up for you. You would actually be a partner in the business venture instead of an adversary.
