Bob: THere are a couple of points that I think you or SI need to address. First, this is a political thread, not a stock thread. Virtually every regular poster on this thread violates some aspect of the terms of use every single day. And you don't suspend them. Nor should you. Secondly, there is a perception that suspensions are parceled out in a biased fashion. Are they? Third, every poster on SI has the ability to screen out unwanted posters; every thread has the ability to do the same. I assume we have these tools in order to use them. We don;t need SI to save us frmo ourselves.
It may make some sense to screen out touters or hypsters on stock threads -- altho, personally, I say caveat emptor -- but on a political thread SI should take a hands off approach. Period. Let people have their say, or not. With the case in point, you shut down this person's extra accounts. Fine. Treat him or her like anyone else after that. And on this thread or any other political thread leave him alone. M2
