Animal Health Companies Recognize The Issue Of Non-Compliance
ALR Technologies, Inc. (ALR Tech), producers of ALRT(TM) Pet Reminder(TM), a
pharmaceutical administration reminder product for the veterinary market, today announced that they
have received purchase orders from three major animal health product distributors. Purchase orders with
two additional distribution companies are expected shortly, ensuring that product will be available to the
20,000 plus veterinary clinics and hospitals throughout the US in early January 2001.

Designed to increase pet owner compliance in the administration of monthly and daily pharmaceuticals,
ALRT Pet Reminder uses both visual and audio cues to remind pet owners when to administer animal
health medications, such as heartworm preventives, flea control products and arthritic medications.
Utilizing microchip technology, ALRT Pet Reminder is easily programmable to
fit individual dosing schedules and can be reprogrammed by pressing a single button, should
administration schedules change. Available in both monthly and daily reminder varieties, ALRT Pet
Reminder is backed by a 12-month warranty and features a magnetic backing for ease-of-use and
placement in the home.
ALR Tech reports that an estimated 28 million pet owners purchase monthly heartworm preventives
and/or monthly flea control products from veterinary hospitals and clinics. Further reports indicate that a
large number of pet owners purchase daily administered medications for pet ailments such as arthritis,
congestive heart failure and separation anxiety.
"Product will be shipped to the distributor warehouses in early January and, based on the positive
results from the veterinary test markets already underway, we expect our distributor partners to be

management team: Bert Honsch and Dr. Jarek Tichy. Mr. Honsch, recently named Executive Vice
President of ALR Tech, has extensive pharmaceutical experience, having worked for Pfizer on the
human pharmaceutical business, and then for Ciba Animal Health as Vice President, Sales and
Marketing, as well as holding the position of Business Unit Head for Asia and South Pacific for Novartis
Animal Health. Before joining ALR Tech, Mr. Honsch served as Executive Vice President and Chief
Operating Officer of National Logistics Services, a major animal heath distribution company.
Dr. Jarek Tichy, Ph.D., was recently named Vice President, Technologies for ALR Tech. With an
extensive background in technology and computer programming, Dr. Tichy will be responsible for all
