Everyone has a story of union abuse. Most of these stories are second-hand and third-hand and 20 to 30 years old. In the account I related, there was no "filtering" involved. Everything I reported is what I witnessed personally. With my own ears and eyes. We had no hired guns on our side of the table. David Boies did not represent our interests. Nobody from the international, no hired negotiators. Just a few common working men and women. Citizen soldiers like Cincinnatus. Which is why management tried to pull a fast one regarding the pension plan. They saw us as weak; in fact, we were strong because we paid for top-notch outside advice and combined that with our common sense. Why is it so difficult for people to accept the fact that Big Business tries to screw its workers in order to boost the bottom line?
