Pirate, these benchmark numbers from EMC are incredibly bad. Here is what EMC has accomplished with their new Clarion based NAS product:

1. A NAS product that does not require Symmetrix on the back end.
2. A product to sell through channel partners, not through its own sales force.
3. A NAS product to sell to its loyal customers, keeping NTAP out of its installed base.

If this product was to be a NTAP killer, it would have been so with Auspex's badge on it for the last couple of years. Auspex trashed its closed/proprietary design after NTAP killed it (literally), and Auspex replaced their product with the CrosStor product. It was not effective against NTAP then. It will not be effective against NTAP as an EMC product, except in EMC's own installed base and as an OEM offering through channels.

That's it.
