Re: there is a solid majority of anywhere from 5 to 8 to not allow counting of selected ballots under multiple standards..

The Supreme court was asked to rule on that issue on the 4th, they ignored the issue then, intimating that it was not appropriate for the courts to make such a determination. Had the not kept their intent secret, they would have left time for the Florida SC to declare a standard. Instead they stalled the recount for a week, and now they say the recounts can't take place because the issue they treated as irrelevant is the controlling issue.

It was a pure political play by Rhenquist and Scalia.

So it goes.

The country knows what was done. The next elections are 2 years away. The entire House and more than a third of the Republicans in the Senate are up for re-election then. Then congress can appropriate $75 million to investigate Bush's drug dealing past, the manner in which he was elected, how he takes care of his pets, any private relationships he's had with women, men, or cattle during his lifetime and whatever else is needed to destroy him and his presidency. Given enough time and money, they'll either find something or someonce willing to claim something. We've just seen a Starring example of how to go about it.

Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind. </rant>
