Respectfully, I disagree.

Gore may know he didn't have the votes.

However, many who voted for him, think he did.

Therein lies the rub.

Those (like you) who think this was a Gore/Daley/Boies manipulation are the victors, not the losers. The victors will be incapable of having their judgment of history heard if the more vociferous losers are not appeased.

Your scenario suggests both bitter losers and bad winners.

I find that both unfortunate and unnecessary.
