I think you are right that both the Fool's rough figures and my even rougher one are low. Trickle companies don't distinguish amongst biotechs, pharmas, or drug discovery houses; a lab is a lab. Or as you put it, it doesn't matter to most trickle companies where the work gets done. But drug discovery houses as an investment category in the trickle portfolio is tough. It's one of the fuzzier categories and there are so many players. Are you going to help pick the winners? Some pieces of the pie have unidentifiable fillings.

Re used equipment resurfacing at biobid.com: in case you hadn't seen the news, a couple of days ago I posted that SIAL was starting to do just that.
