I heard something on the radio about Scalia. That it had been reported in something called the Washingtonian some time ago that Scalia had told friends that he wanted to be Chief Justice. And that he intended to resign from the court if a Democrat won the Presidency this year as he knew a Republican President would be his only hope. We'll have to see if Rehnquist steps down and Scalia is rewarded by being named CJ after W is in office.

Do you have any knowledge or opinions about W's likely SC appointments? Read something on the Investor's Business Daily editorial page (one of the most pro-Bush places around) that W's state court appointments were moderates not hard-line conservatives of the Scalia mode.
