OT My Dear Jo Ellen,

You have brought to light some very important facts. I really thing Mr. Bush should rethink accepting the position he is being offered. Perhaps at this time Mr. Gore would be better suited for the job, after all he seems to have nine lives. This election should be titled "Never Say Die".

As you are aware I have an amazing network of friends. I have it on good authority that a number of disposed dictators are, at this time, filing with the US Supreme court petitions to have their "disposals" over turned. We can expect to see legal briefs filed later this morning. The basis of their argument is that their was no standard for their "disposal". They insist that if all ballots were reviewed and the bite marks on the ballots counted as dimples they would still be in office. I will post the filings as they are made.

The upshot of this whole thing is I really doubt we will be called in by any of those pesky "third world" countries to make sure that their elections are smooth and fair.

Seems to be there was a standard for counting ballots. The standard was set in the process of casting the vote and by the machines ability to read the ballots, thus determining for whom the vote was cast for. In order for your vote to count you needed to punch out a hole. In my neck of the woods we have to pull a lever. We flip down a series of switches and then pull the lever. If we flip down no switches we have no vote. If we do not pull the lever, still no vote. A half pull does not cast a ballot, ducking underneath the curtain and leaving does not cast a ballot. The only means to cast your ballot is to pull the lever. The only means to cast your vote in Florida is to punch that chad out.

I found it amazing that so much effort was focused on voters "Intent". I have seen very few legal arguments won based on "intent". (he intended to change his will but he died). Should we start counting votes for people who intended to vote in the election but never made it to the poles? The road to hell was paved with good intentions, was it not?

I think that if you want to toss some blame around the Broward Canvassing Board was one of the most culpable groups in leading to the Supreme Courts decision. Their blatant counting of the ballots was seen on national TV.

I for one am sad to see what our country is becoming. There is an excuse for everything and everything has an excuse. The lessons we are teaching our young people are down right wrong. We are becoming a "blameless" society filled with people that are not willing to accept responsibility for their actions. I for one will continue to accept responsibility for my actions and will continue to teach my children to do so also.

I think it is sad that people will continue to be brain-washed into thinking that all of the votes were not counted. A vote not cast is a vote not counted.

The wonderful thing about this country is that we can all speak our mind and most of us respect each other. I will see you at our "hiding place".

Best Wishes For A Very Happy Holiday Season.

Sincerely,
SpinCity1
