I agree with your points about leadership. The presidency is essentially a "figure head" position and we need someone there who can gather a group of qualified people around him and then get out of the way and let them do their job. Then he can provide guidance when necessary. IMO - Al Gore is not that person. While I don't think Bush is the smartest man in the world, he inspires me and that's what a president should do.
