As I see it, the next step is impeachment!

Bush *may* become our next president (the electors
have yet to vote, and Gore only needs a couple of
electors to cross over)... but its clear that Bush
lost the nation's popular vote and he will not get
more than an extraordinarily slim electoral majority.

The nation has been screwed by Florida's election
processes. But the Florida votes will be counted
and the nation will know, before the next president
is inaugurated, that Gore won the Florida popular
vote as well. If Bush is inaugurated, the nation
will know that his presidency is illegitimate.

The silver lining to a Bush presidency is that he will
lose his bid for re-election in 2004 (if we haven't been
able to get rid of him before that) and the democrats
will hold the White House for the following 8 years.

Al Gore, if you are reading this, don't give up yet.
You owe it to the nation to keep fighting...
