It's amazing how many stock investors don't understand the function of an executive. Gore directed every detail of this post-election campaign, without the slightest consideration of the big picture: that he was damaging the nation and his own cause through stubbornness.

Bush turned to his party and found the best people for each important task, then turned them loose with full power to go out and achieve their objectives. At the end of the day, the Gore forces were chased off by the better-organized Bush forces.

While my own opinion is that Clinton/Gore represents a very special disease infecting the American Republic, a disease that critically needs to be eradicated for our nation to survive into the new century, I recognize that there are many of you (certainly less grounded in history) who think in terms of simply running the government day-to-day and making marginal policy decisions. For you, I suggest considering which candidate did the best "administrative" job during this conflict. If you do, you will find that the best man/organization has finally prevailed...
